Meet Dean Abrams
Dean Abrams is not a career politician. He spent three decades solving the most challenging problems in both the public and private sectors, leading enterprise technology and management consulting work at Microsoft, HP, KPMG, and other American corporations.
After September 11, he helped rebuild the emergency communications systems for New York City's first responders. He has led initiatives to increase accountability and operating efficiency in multiple states, including Florida.
Dean has lived a life of service, from assisting the disabled and elderly to helping those struggling with substance abuse, even bringing a homeless veteran off the street and into his home, helping him get treated and get a place of his own.
Dean understands that government should serve the people, and he is committed to helping the most vulnerable in our society. With his expertise in fiscal management and leadership, he intends to make Florida affordable and safe for all Floridians.

Running with Joe Van Vactor
Joe Van Vactor retired from the United States Air Force after eighteen years of service, with deployments worldwide. He then moved into disaster response, managing the projects that rebuild communities after hurricanes and other natural disasters.
He is an educator and a coach. He works with veterans and with seniors, two groups Florida promises a great deal and delivers very little to.
"I have spent my life in service, starting in the Air Force. As an educator and a disaster project manager, I have worked on problems from classrooms to crisis zones. I am running to bring real solutions for veterans, seniors, health and home insurance, and the cost of living in Florida."

Insurance transparency and profit caps. Property tax elimination on homesteaded homes. An end to investment funds buying single family houses. Grants for first time home buyers.
Healthcare
Complete overhaul. Up front pricing. Tiered payment structure based on income. Accountability. No denial of service. Profit cap.
Surveillance and privacy
An end to warrantless plate reader networks. Enforcement of Florida's own constitutional right to privacy. Data brokers registered and penalized for violations.
Data centers
Statewide moratorium on AI data centers. Environmental review of existing data centers. No access to the aquifer or public water sources.
Water and land
Public trust protection extended to the aquifer. Stop overdevelopment.
Food transparency
Compounds banned in Europe, Britain, Canada, and Japan should not be permitted here without Floridians being informed of the risks.
There is no wasted vote in this race.
Florida elects a governor by plurality. Whoever gets the most votes wins. There is no runoff and no majority requirement, so no party is entitled to your vote by default.
This campaign takes no party money, no PAC money, and no corporate donations. It is self funded, which means there is nobody to answer to except the people reading this.
Every promise on the issues page says whether a governor can deliver it alone or whether it needs the legislature. A candidate who tells you he can do it by himself is either misinformed or counting on you being misinformed.
